Welcome to my blog!

My name is Valerie and I’m the blogger behind Life as Wife.  I’m a 20-something year living in Middle Tennessee not far from Nashville.

Obviously I’m married.  My husband is a wonderful guy named Brett.

We were married in an art gallery in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee on September 19, 2008.

So what else is there to know?

Some other noteworthy things:

We have two kitties that I obsess over and talk about all the time named Orion, who is a black Manx, and All Hallows Eve (Hallie), a calico “mutt.”

I’m trying to start up my photography business in Spring 2010.

I’m currently finishing my bachelor’s degree at a local university.  At first I was majoring in photography, but found myself unhappy with the fact that I was developing the same exact style of photography as my classmates as a result of my teacher’s methods.  I’m not sure what I’m going to major in at this point now, but I’m pretty darn interested in French.  Brett has a degree in French and has had a hand in sparking my interest in languages.

I spend a lot of time on the Internet learning about photography.  I also read quite a few interior design blogs to get ideas on how to decorate our tiny apartment.

I’m secretly hoping that we will buy a house either in 2010 or 2011, but there are a lot of variables that must fall into the right place for that to happen.

Oh, and Brett is a teacher… kinda.  I can’t really talk much about his job for all the privacy reasons in the world.
